The true medical HEPA filter removes up to 99.97 percent of all particles down to 0.3 microns in size and 95 percent down to .1 micron. It cleans up with a carbon-zeolite mix for absorption of odors and gases.

If your Austin Air Healthmate air purifier was manufactured or purchased prior to August of 1995, this filter will not fit. You actually need the HEGA filter for your unit because of the way the motor was mounted.
