XDR TB: Extensively Drug-resistant TB. MDR TB that is also resistant to
fluoroquinilones and at least one of three injectable drugs (i.e., amikacin, kanamycin, or capreomycin).
Xenon: An inert gaseous element.
Xeric: Of, pertaining to, or having dry or desert-like conditions.

Xerophile: An organism with enzyme systems that enable it to grow optimally in dry places (deserts).
Xylene: A flammable solvent, used to dissolve or loosen sludge. Found in paints, varnishes, lacquers, solvents, xylenes are included in the formulations of paints, adhesives, and some furniture products, and are observed off-gassing.
